JPYC Stablecoin Lands $38 Million in Extended Series B Funding Round

The company, which is Japan's first registered stablecoin issuer under the Payment Services Act, has secured a significant boost in capital. JPYC closed its extended Series B round at 6 billion yen, equivalent to around $38 million, with logistics giant AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings joining as the newest backer.

The funds will be used to build out JPYC's financial infrastructure, grow its Web3 ecosystem, and accelerate adoption of the yen-pegged token in Japan. The company is positioning itself as a compliant, local alternative in a market dominated by dollar-pegged tokens such as USDT and USDC.

JPYC launched in October 2025 and now operates across four blockchains: Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, and Kaia. Real-world pilots have begun at retail shops, restaurants, and medical facilities, with convenience store chain Lawson testing JPYC at checkout.
