Judge Slams Trump Admin for Illegally Retaliating Against Anthropic

A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration illegally punished Anthropic for refusing to let the military use its AI model, Claude LLM, for tasks including mass surveillance of Americans and lethal autonomous warfare.

The dispute began when the Pentagon asked Anthropic to strip all usage restrictions from its technology. Anthropic dropped most of them but held two red lines. The Trump administration responded by ordering every federal agency to stop using Anthropic's technology, calling it a 'RADICAL LEFT, WOKE COMPANY' on Truth Social.

The government has since abandoned its central claim that Anthropic's AI model posed a risk due to alleged backdoor access. However, the judge found that the Trump administration's actions were retaliatory and in violation of the First Amendment and due process.
