Jurisdiction Launches Multi-Agency Working Group to Regulate Crypto Exchanges
A multi-agency working group has been launched to oversee cryptocurrency exchanges in a jurisdiction. The group will operate for 18 months, as mandated by a resolution approved by the Supreme Commission for Regulating the Virtual Space on May 27, 2025.
The resolution allows the working group to draft regulations, issue licenses, and supervise exchange operations. This move shifts focus from broad policy discussion to operational rules that could shape market access, compliance burdens, and boundaries for exchange activity.
Thirteen governmental, judicial, security, and professional bodies are part of the working group. The Central Bank, Securities and Exchange Organization, and Attorney General's Office are among the named participants. Meetings must be held at least once every two weeks.
