Kaiko Raises $110M to Provide Institutional Crypto Data Services
Kaiko is an institutional crypto data firm that has been around since 2014. It provides market feeds, indices, analytics, and monitoring services to banks, exchanges, funds, and regulators. The company's stack includes Data Feeds, Analytics, Monitoring, and Kaiko Data Services, which include centralized oracles that push capital-markets prices on-chain.
Kaiko's data and services are designed for institutions that need auditable crypto prices, not for retail traders. They offer independent prices to prevent an exchange from marking its own derivatives, tick-level feeds with fair-value and risk analytics, surveillance and AML/CFT monitoring across markets and chains, and indices and calculation-agent work for listed products.
In 2022, S&P Global led a strategic investment that extended Kaiko's Series B to $110 million. The company has received high praise from clients, with one of them being a large exchange using Kaiko's index settlement. Kaiko also offers an on-chain oracle path for tokenized assets and post-trade marks.
