Kakaopay Secures Partnership with Dinari to Tokenize Korean Equities
Kakaopay Securities has partnered with Dinari to explore tokenizing Korean-listed shares for international distribution. The collaboration aims to create a framework for distributing Korean equities globally, including in the US.
Dinari already offers 724 tokenized US stocks and ETFs through its dShares model, which backs each token one-to-one with an underlying security held through regulated custody. Kakaopay Securities will begin by sourcing Korean-listed shares and testing how they can be represented through Dinari's token infrastructure.
The joint task force established to examine the operational, technical, and regulatory requirements for international distribution is set to meet later this year. The companies plan to study token issuance and redemption processes, reconciliation between digital tokens and underlying securities, shareholder rights, and the infrastructure needed to distribute the products through Dinari's partners.
