Kalshi Joins Coinbase and Payward in Filing for U.S. Stock Perpetual Futures
Kalshi has filed with federal regulators to list U.S. stock perpetual futures, joining Coinbase and Kraken parent Payward in a push to expand the market.
The filings follow the Senate's failure to pass the CLARITY Act on September 15, which would have clarified regulatory guidelines for crypto-style derivatives in mainstream equity trading.
Kalshi's proposed rule change with the SEC and submission to the CFTC include contracts without a preset expiration date, instead relying on periodic funding payments between long and short positions to keep prices aligned with underlying stocks.
Payward, Kraken's parent, also filed through Bitnomial Exchange to offer single-stock perpetual futures and plans to make them available to U.S. traders on Kraken.
