Kalshi Seeks CFTC Approval for Gold and Silver Perpetual Futures
Kalshi has submitted applications to the CFTC for approval to trade gold and silver perpetual futures. The contracts, designated as GOLDPERP and SILVERPERP, would feature cash settlement, no expiration dates, and continuous trading access around the clock.
The price feeds for these contracts will come from Pyth Network, and physical delivery of metals is not involved in the transactions. Kalshi already operates perpetual futures on 18 digital assets with over $8.5 billion in total volume.
This move comes as Kalshi continues to expand its product offerings across digital asset perpetuals. The company secured CFTC authorization for its Bitcoin perpetual contract in May and has launched additional cryptocurrency perpetual contracts since then, including five new ones on September 4.
