Kalshi Seeks CFTC Approval for WTI Perpetual Futures Contract

Kalshi is seeking approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to list a perpetual futures contract linked to West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil, according to Bloomberg. The proposed product would trade continuously from Monday through Friday, without a fixed expiration date.

This would make it the first WTI perpetual contract available on a regulated U.S. exchange. Kalshi already lists a CFTC-approved Bitcoin perpetual contract that began trading in June 2026.

The proposed contract's specifications, margin requirements, position limits, funding mechanism, and expected launch date remain unconfirmed as no application for the product has been filed with the CFTC yet.
