Kalshi Trading Volume Surges Past $148 Billion in 2026

Kalshi's trading volume for 2026 has reached an impressive $148 billion, accounting for about 85.5% of its more than $173 billion in lifetime event-contract trading volume. This marks the strongest expansion period in the prediction market platform's history.

Data compiled by KalshiData with Artemis shows that nearly five months into the year, 2026 activity has already surpassed last year's total by over six times, underscoring the scale of recent growth. The majority of the company's recorded trading history has accumulated within just over seven months.

The World Cup markets produced around $27 billion in volume, while July trading reached roughly $37.7 to $41.05 billion. Fifteen-minute cryptocurrency contracts saw a significant jump from $53.8 million in January to approximately $4.8 billion in July. Sports and combination contracts generated about $32 billion in July activity.

Kalshi's expansion into short-duration markets, including gold and silver contracts, has also contributed to the surge in trading volume. The company reported an 800% increase in institutional trading volume over the six months preceding its May financing round, which raised $1 billion and valued the company at $22 billion.
