Kalshi's Commodity Trading Volume Surpasses Early Crypto Growth
Kalshi's commodity trading volume has surpassed early cryptocurrency growth just seven months after its launch. The platform reported over $400 million in monthly commodity trade volume, a figure that is four times higher than cryptocurrency at the same point.
The surge in retail trading led Kalshi to adopt commodity prediction markets for products such as oil, gas, and metals. This move has not only boosted trading volumes but also helped the platform explore newer asset classes.
Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour attributes the strong performance to improved liquidity on the platform. He notes that liquidity is hard to achieve, especially in new markets, but Kalshi's diverse and large participation pool has enabled it to launch and scale new markets faster.
