Kamino Expands Solana Lending with ZEC-Backed Borrowing

Kamino Finance has expanded its lending platform on Solana to include ZEC-backed borrowing. Users can now post Zcash's bridged version, ZEC, as collateral and borrow USDC.

The process involves routing ZEC through cross-chain bridge infrastructure, specifically NEAR Intents and OmniBridge, which brings the asset onto Solana in a form that Kamino can price and custody.

The ZEC market operates within an isolated lending architecture, where the collateral risk is contained in its own pool. This setup allows Kamino to set custom loan-to-value ratios and liquidation thresholds tailored to ZEC's volatility profile.

Kamino has also introduced the Multiply feature, which automates a loop of borrowing USDC, swapping it back into ZEC, and redepositing in a single transaction. This results in amplified ZEC exposure funded by borrowed stablecoins.
