Kamino Taps Yieldstreet Co-Founder for Wall Street Push
Kamino, one of Solana's largest lending protocols with $1.4 billion in assets, is expanding its presence on Wall Street. To lead this effort, the company has named Michael Weisz, co-founder of Yieldstreet (now Willow Wealth), as its new CEO.
Weisz brings significant experience to Kamino, having co-founded an alternative investment platform that deployed over $6 billion with major firms like Goldman Sachs and Carlyle. He is optimistic about the potential for on-chain finance, stating that being in New York puts Kamino 'at the intersection of the asset managers, distribution platforms and institutional capital that will define the next phase of on-chain finance.'
Kamino's expansion comes as tokenization gains traction on Wall Street. Tokenized securities are expected to reach $5.5 trillion by 2030, according to Citi, as banks and asset managers explore faster settlement, round-the-clock markets, and new ways to use assets as collateral.
