Kamino, a lending and liquidity protocol built on Solana, has named Michael Weisz as its new CEO. The appointment of Weisz, co-founder of Yieldstreet, is effective September 15. Kamino aims to accelerate institutional growth and expansion into the US market.

Weisz spent over two decades in fintech before joining Kamino. At Yieldstreet, he built a platform for retail and institutional investors to access asset classes like real estate, marine finance, and art lending, which were previously inaccessible due to high minimums and private bank relationships.

Kamino has seen significant growth, generating $1.84 million in revenue during Q2 2026. Deposits reached $2.29 billion by the end of the quarter, driven by rapid scaling in newer markets. The Ethena market secured over $500 million in deposits, while Kamino's PRIME segment surpassed $600 million in market size.
