Kazakhstan Shifts Focus on Sustainable Crypto Mining Industry Development
Kazakhstan is taking steps to develop its cryptocurrency mining industry, aiming for a more sustainable and integrated model. According to Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, the country already holds a significant position in the global Bitcoin mining market, ranking among the top 10 countries by late 2025.
The government has shifted its focus from quantitative growth to establishing a higher-quality operating model, ensuring control over energy consumption, transparent taxation, and integration into the global digital economy.
Prime Minister Smailov instructed relevant agencies to develop measures for further development, including establishing a fully-fledged digital mining industry with an exchange, tokenization, asset custody, and payment solutions.
