Kazakhstan Taps Associated Gas for Crypto Mining Power
Kazakhstan has announced plans to utilize associated petroleum gas for power generation in licensed crypto mining operations. The estimated annual generation capacity is up to 1.3 terawatt-hours, contingent on infrastructure development and regulatory approvals.
The initiative aims to convert typically flared associated gas into electricity, reducing resource waste and providing a stable power source for mining.
Although the plan outlines a power supply ceiling, specific technologies, operators, and field locations remain unconfirmed, which may affect the feasibility and economics of actual power supply.
