KB Kookmin Bank Leverages Kinexys Blockchain Network for Cross-Border Payments
South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank is set to launch a Kinexys-powered cross-border corporate payment service in August 2026, making it the first South Korean financial institution to use J.P. Morgan's blockchain payment network for live trade settlements.
The service will support USD transfers across ten countries through KB Kookmin's domestic branches and its Singapore office, targeting import and export businesses.
Kinexys replaces traditional cross-border payments routed through SWIFT, which can take days, require multiple correspondent banks, and leave capital stuck in transit.
