KB Kookmin Card Partners with Mastercard to Test Stablecoin Payments
KB Kookmin Card, a South Korean financial services company, has joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program (CPP) to test the feasibility of stablecoin payments. This partnership is part of KB Kookmin Card's efforts to prepare for future growth in the stablecoin market.
The pilot program will use Coinbase's blockchain wallet to verify whether stablecoins can be linked with KB Pay, a digital payment service offered by KB Kookmin Card. The company plans to connect blockchain transactions with existing card-payment processes, including authorization, settlement, cancellations, and refunds.
KB Kookmin Card aims to build the necessary technology and infrastructure to support stablecoin payments in South Korea. This move is a response to changes in the global stablecoin market and demonstrates the company's commitment to innovation and adaptation.
