KB Securities Joins Forces with Securitize, Optimism to Launch Token Securities Business
KB Securities has partnered with Securitize and the Optimism Foundation to launch a token securities business for domestic institutional investors. The move marks a significant step towards expanding digital asset offerings in South Korea.
Under the agreement, KB Securities will be responsible for product supply, utilizing its expertise in underwriting, issuance, and sales of financial products as well as its existing client base. Securitize will provide tokenization infrastructure, while the Optimism Foundation will support the underlying blockchain network.
The partnership plans to introduce a tokenized money market fund (MMF) and tokenized funds using KB Asset Management's flagship investment strategies for institutional clients. The companies aim to expand their offerings to include stocks, U.S. American depositary receipts (ADRs), corporate bonds, and government bonds as domestic regulations evolve.
Securitize has already established partnerships with prominent global financial firms, including BlackRock, Apollo, BNY, Hamilton Lane, and KKR. The company's platform manages approximately $5 billion in tokenized assets.
