KB Securities Partners with Optimism and Securitize to Launch Tokenized Fund on OP Mainnet
Korean financial giant KB Securities is partnering with Optimism and Securitize to bring tokenized financial products to OP Mainnet, according to an MOU signed on September 23. The partnership aims to create a fund for institutional investors in Korea that will be hosted on the Optimism network.
The initial plan is to tokenize Money Market Funds (MMFs) and KB Asset Management's flagship strategy funds. Securitize will provide the underlying tokenization infrastructure, while Optimism will support the development of the OP Mainnet ecosystem. KB Securities will handle the composition, issuance, and sales of the tokenized products.
The partnership plans to expand its offerings to include other financial instruments such as stocks, ADRs, bonds, and Korean government bonds in the future. Additionally, KB Securities is exploring the possibility of selling existing global asset management companies' tokenized funds to institutional investors in Korea.
