KB Securities Partners with Securitize and Optimism for Tokenized Investment Products
Korean brokerage house KB Securities has partnered with Securitize and the Optimism Foundation to create tokenized investment products for institutional clients.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on September 21, marking a first foray into tokenization for KB Securities. The partnership will initially offer tokenized money market funds and a fund built around strategies from KB Asset Management.
The settlement will run on the OP Mainnet, Optimism's Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 network. Securitize provides the tokenization platform and serves as transfer agent, while the Optimism Foundation manages the underlying blockchain infrastructure.
The collaboration plans to expand into other areas such as tokenized stocks, American depositary receipts, corporate bonds, and Korean government bonds once regulatory developments in South Korea allow it.
