KB Securities Taps Securitize and Optimism for Tokenized Funds in Korea
KB Securities has partnered with Securitize and Optimism to develop tokenized funds for Korean institutional investors. The agreement covers the development and distribution of tokenized securities in South Korea, with KB Securities bringing its institutional client base and securities issuance experience.
The first planned product is a tokenized money market fund for institutional clients, which will be hosted on OP Mainnet. A fund based on a KB Asset Management strategy is also in the works, although the exact launch date has not been announced. The companies plan to explore other products, including tokenized stocks and bonds, as Korea's securities framework develops.
Securitize will provide tokenization infrastructure, while Optimism will offer blockchain technology. KB Securities' CEO, Kang Jin-doo, said that the agreement brings together the companies' capabilities for products serving domestic institutional investors. He noted that KB Securities will continue to monitor regulatory and market developments as it works with global partners.
