KDDI Brings Crypto Wallet to au PAY Mobile Payments

KDDI, Japan's third-largest mobile operator, has launched a cryptocurrency wallet within its au PAY smartphone payment service. The new feature allows users to exchange Ponta points for select crypto assets and stablecoins, which can then be used to top up their au PAY balance.

The KDDI-developed wallet is non-custodial, meaning that users manage the private keys associated with their digital assets themselves.
