KelpDAO Sues LayerZero Over Record-Breaking $292 Million Hack

KelpDAO has filed a lawsuit against LayerZero and its co-founder Brian Pellegrino over the $292 million hack in April. The project claims vulnerabilities in LayerZero's technology allowed attackers to steal 116,500 rsETH.

The attack occurred on April 22 and became the largest crypto hack of 2026, with its impact spreading across the DeFi market. KelpDAO blames LayerZero for not disclosing existing risks in its technology and failing to prevent security infrastructure compromise.

Pellegrino has denied the claims, stating they are 'baseless' and intends to defend his position in court. The lawsuit also names Evercrest, an affiliate of KelpDAO, as a plaintiff.
