Kiyosaki Warns: Hold Hard Assets Amid $39.6 Trillion US Debt Surge
Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestselling book Rich Dad Poor Dad, has expressed concerns about the U.S. national debt, which has surged to $39.6 trillion. He attributes this increase to the government's ability to print money at will, and advocates for holding 'hard assets' such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and gold instead.
Kiyosaki notes that the U.S. national debt was around $9.5 trillion in 2008, but has more than quadrupled since then. He criticizes the government's practice of accumulating roughly $1 trillion in new debt every 90 days.
To illustrate the scale of this debt, Kiyosaki points out that it would take approximately 32,000 years to spend $1 trillion if one dollar was spent per minute.
Kiyosaki defines 'hard assets' as scarce resources whose supply cannot be arbitrarily increased by a government. He has been accumulating gold, silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereum for personal investment, with his Bitcoin holdings dating back to 2012 and Ethereum since 2022.
