Klippsten Fires Back at Novogratz: Bitcoin's Value Isn't Based on Trust
Cory Klippsten, CEO of Swan Bitcoin, has pushed back against comments made by Galaxy Digital's Mike Novogratz about the nature of Bitcoin's value. According to Novogratz, Bitcoin's value comes mainly from trust in its network and users.
Klippsten disagrees with this assessment, stating that Bitcoin doesn't work because of trust, but because anyone can verify important properties of the network for themselves. He emphasized the motto 'don't trust, verify,' which allows users to download the Bitcoin software and check the blockchain.
The total supply of BTC in circulation, the block limit, every block ever mined, every transaction since 2009, and miners' adherence to the consensus rule are all publicly available for verification. This decentralized approach is often referred to as a trust-minimized system.
