Klippsten Fires Back at Novogratz Over Bitcoin Value Claims
Cory Klippsten, CEO of Swan Bitcoin, has pushed back against comments made by Galaxy Digital's Mike Novogratz about the value of Bitcoin. In a statement, Klippsten emphasized that Bitcoin's value and usefulness do not come from trust or shared belief among its users.
Klippsten highlighted one of Bitcoin's original mottos: 'don't trust, verify.' This means that anyone can download the Bitcoin software and check the blockchain themselves, verifying important properties such as the total supply of Bitcoin in circulation, the 21 million limit, every block ever mined, and every transaction since its launch in 2009.
Klippsten also referred to Bitcoin as an 'antifragile system,' a term coined by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. This means that systems grow stronger when they endure pressure rather than relying on centralized oversight.
