Korbit Rebrands as Digital X Amid Mirae Asset Group Expansion Push

Share

Korbit, a South Korean cryptocurrency exchange, has undergone a corporate name change to Digital X Co. The company completed its registration for the new name on November 11th and will maintain the 'Korbit' service name for users in the short term.

The name change is part of Mirae Asset Group's strategy to expand its digital asset business and realize its 'Mirae Asset 3.0' vision, as outlined by Global Strategist Park Hyeon-joo in a letter to employees on October 23rd. The 'X' in Digital X represents the infinite possibilities that arise when different values intersect.

According to industry analysis, this name change is a stepping stone for the future expansion of Digital X's business scope and re-establishment of its brand identity.

The company has warned users about potential financial fraud attempts impersonating the corporate name change and urged them to be cautious of phishing and other scams.
