Korean Crypto Exchanges Suffer Heavy Losses Amid Falling Token Prices
Korea's top four cryptocurrency exchanges have posted significant losses in the first half of the year. The combined losses total nearly $364 million, or around 500 billion won.
This underscores the pressures facing the digital asset industry as token prices continue to fall. The losses come despite a surge in trading volumes, which rose by 17-fold in recent months.
The increase in trading activity is attributed to the recent Bitcoin rally, which drew investors back into the market. However, the falling token prices have put pressure on exchanges and their operators.
