Korean Crypto Market Premium Widens to 0.34%
Bitcoin's price premium on South Korean exchanges has widened to 0.34%, up from 0.07% the previous day, as local demand outpaces global markets.
The so-called kimchi premium is a persistent feature of Korea's crypto market, driven by capital controls, limited arbitrage opportunities, and intense retail demand.
Ethereum led the premium board among major altcoins at 0.39%, followed closely by XRP at 0.43% and Sui at 0.40%. Solana showed a 0.32% gap, while Dogecoin posted the narrowest spread at 0.11%.
The figures mark a broad-based expansion from the prior day, when premiums across major assets were mostly confined to a range of -0.1% to 0.2%. The widening gap suggests renewed buying pressure from Korean retail investors.
