Korean Exchanges Act After Suspected SAND Token Exploit

Korean crypto exchanges Upbit and Bithumb have taken action after an on-chain alert flagged a suspected exploit of the Sandbox (SAND) token. On August 22, 2026, Upbit issued a trading caution, while Bithumb suspended SAND deposits and withdrawals.

The exploit is believed to be linked to a 500M+ token mint on Base.
