Korea's Blockchain Industry Beckons Traditional Finance
Faisal Al Hammadi, CEO of Furder Ventures, believes that as virtual assets gain institutional traction in Korea, business opportunities arise through collaboration with traditional financial companies.
The Abu Dhabi government-backed investment firm has entered the Korean market by investing in Populous, a domestic virtual asset research company. According to Al Hammadi, outstanding blockchain developers and projects are emerging in Korea, and the trading volume of individual investors has a significant impact on global cryptocurrency sentiment.
Furder Ventures focuses on digital markets and their supporting infrastructure, particularly technologies that enable existing financial institutions to introduce new digital financial products. The company is investing in basic technologies that make financial markets function 24/7.
However, Al Hammadi notes that venture capital investments often have a long investment period, which may not suit all institutional investors. To address this, Furder Ventures is expanding its business to include on-chain liquidity investments and asset management strategies.
