Korea's KB Securities Taps Optimism for Institutional Tokenization Push
Korea's KB Securities has taken its first step in tokenizing its business by migrating some of its traditional Korean financial products onto the Optimism Mainnet.
This move will pair their extensive institutional distribution channel with Securitize's tokenization platform and Optimism's settlement layer, allowing Korean institutions to obtain on-chain versions of their existing investments.
The partnership starts with a tokenized money market fund and a fund tied to a KB Asset Management strategy, enabling the company to test demand before expanding to more asset classes.
If successful, this model may also extend to stocks, ADRs, corporate debt securities, and Korean government-issued debt securities once regulatory frameworks develop.
The move could broaden institutional tokenization beyond U.S. dollar-denominated assets in Korea.
