The KORU ETF has surged nearly 8% in overnight trading despite the South Korean benchmark index, KOSPI, falling around 5% at the open on Monday.

Economist Steve Hanke claims that South Korea's benchmark stock index has become the most volatile in the world, surpassing even Bitcoin's volatility, according to a chart he shared on X.

The volatility in South Korea's stock market rally is partly due to the government's push to channel household savings into domestic equities and reduce capital outflows from overseas investments and property, reported Bloomberg.
