Kraken Adds S&P 500 to Funded Trading Program
Kraken has expanded its funded trading program, Kraken Prop, to include the S&P 500 index alongside the Nasdaq 100. The company stated that traders can now submit trade signals on the S&P 500 across all evaluation and funded accounts.
The addition of the S&P 500 is offered as a perpetual instrument priced off an index oracle that tracks the same 500 large-cap US companies, allowing positions to remain open without expiry or rollover. This is in contrast to traditional futures contracts which expire on a specific date.
Kraken noted that adding the S&P 500 does not change how the program works, with evaluations available from $20 across different plans and wallet sizes ranging from $5,000 to $200,000. The company also mentioned that index markets tend to be less volatile than crypto, which can support stronger evaluation pass rates for traders coming from a traditional finance background.
The S&P 500 is available with 5x leverage and a $1 million notional cap, subject to a maximum daily loss of 3%. The company also stated that commodities will be the next market added to Kraken Prop in its broader multi-asset build-out.
