Kraken Brings Regulated Perps to US Traders
Major cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has launched regulated perpetual futures for US traders. The product, also known as perps, lets users take long or short positions on assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum without owning them.
The contracts are available through Kraken Pro and listed on Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated exchange acquired by Payward in May 2026. Traders can access the products alongside spot trading, margin trading, and CME-listed crypto futures from a single interface.
John Palmer, Kraken's head of derivatives, said adoption could follow the path of spot Bitcoin ETFs, with sophisticated traders entering first. Investment advisers and asset managers may follow once they complete internal reviews.
