Kraken Locks Accounts Amid Mysterious Small Transfer Surge

A series of small transfers to Kraken-linked addresses has resulted in some customers' accounts being temporarily locked. The transactions, which occurred between August 17 and 24, totaled approximately 12,000. Most of these transfers were valued at only a few cents or dollars.

Kraken characterized this activity as a 'dust attack,' suggesting it may have been an attempt to spread sanctioned funds across different platforms and trigger compliance reviews on other platforms.

The wallet from which the transfers were sent was identified by Arkham Intelligence as being linked to HTX, but HTX denied initiating the transfers, stating that the addresses might have been misidentified or that malicious third parties may have carried out the transactions.
