Kroenke Buys Controlling Stake in Los Angeles Angels
Stan Kroenke has expanded his sports empire by acquiring a controlling stake in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from the Moreno family. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, but terms were not disclosed.
Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE), which was valued at over $26 billion last June, now owns teams in nearly every major professional sport. This includes the NFL's Los Angeles Rams, the NBA's Denver Nuggets, the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, as well as Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids and the Premier League's Arsenal Football Club.
KSE also owns SoFi Stadium and the Hollywood Park district in Inglewood, California, which Kroenke spent over $5 billion on. The Moreno family has been honored to steward the Angels for 23 years and believes that KSE is the best next owner for the franchise.
