KuCoin Strengthens Digital Asset Protection with CCSS Level 3 Upgrade
KuCoin has upgraded its Wallet Management Services from CCSS v8.1 Level 2 to Level 3, Full System Certification, demonstrating greater control maturity across key management and organizational safeguards.
This upgrade introduces more rigorous controls throughout the cryptographic key lifecycle, including separation of responsibilities, access and personnel controls, regular testing of key-compromise response procedures, and broader independent assurance.
The CCSS certification complements internationally recognized standards such as SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, and ISO/IEC 27701:2019, establishing an integrated framework for information security, privacy, operational resilience, AI governance, and crypto-native asset protection.
KuCoin's CEO, BC Wong, emphasized that trust is not established through a single certification but must be continually tested, validated, and improved. He noted that the Level 3 upgrade provides stronger protection against unauthorized access, key exposure, and operational failures for both retail users and institutional clients.
