KuCoin Widens Sanctions Net to Indirect Crypto Transfers Across 17 Platforms

Share

KuCoin has expanded its sanctions screening to include indirect crypto transfers across 17 platforms. According to an August 27 compliance notice, KuCoin will screen transactions for connections to these entities, which includes exchanges like HTX, linked to Justin Sun.

The policy means users can face held or rejected transactions even if they don't directly transact with one of the listed platforms. This could lead to enhanced review, temporary wallet and account restrictions, and in severe cases, suspension or withdrawal of services from the user.

KuCoin has not disclosed how many transaction hops it will trace or what level of on-chain attribution is sufficient to establish an indirect connection.
