L3Harris Lands Major Contract, Boosts Production Capacity
Defense technology firm L3Harris Technologies secured a significant contract award to manufacture propulsion systems for the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement program. Under the seven-year framework deal with the Department of War and Lockheed Martin, L3Harris will produce critical components including the dual-pulse solid rocket motor, Attitude Control Motors, and the Lethality Enhancer component.
The agreement is expected to increase production capacity for PAC-3 propulsion systems nearly threefold. L3Harris plans to invest in its manufacturing infrastructure and supply chain partners to accommodate the anticipated surge in production volume. The framework arrangement is slated for completion later in 2026, leveraging multi-year procurement authorization to establish a stable long-term contractual foundation.
The contract follows impressive financial performance in the company's latest reporting period. L3Harris delivered first quarter earnings of $2.72 per share, exceeding Wall Street's consensus forecast of $2.53 by $0.19. Quarterly revenue reached $5.74 billion, outpacing analyst projections and representing an 11.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
