Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, is launching a new meme coin called $LAPTOP. The token is set to launch on Base, Coinbase's blockchain network, on Tuesday.

The move comes after Hunter Biden challenged the laptop's provenance and chain of custody in a July Substack post, while acknowledging that it contained records from a period when he was struggling with addiction.

The $LAPTOP token appears to be aimed at President Donald Trump, a longtime political foe of the Biden family. Republicans had used material from the laptop as part of their investigation into Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings.
