Hunter Biden's $LAPTOP memecoin is set to launch on Base, Coinbase's Layer-2 blockchain, on September 9th. The token will have an initial supply of one billion tokens.

Biden and his co-founders will hold 30% of the total supply, while another 20% will be distributed through an airdrop to selected groups, including Hunter Biden's Substack subscribers and readers on journalist Andrew Callaghan's mailing list. The airdrop also targets wallets that lost money buying Donald Trump's $TRUMP memecoin.

This move has drawn attention due to the ongoing scrutiny around Trump's cryptocurrency ventures, which have resulted in investors facing roughly $4.7 billion in unrealized losses. In contrast, Trump and his family have profited at least $1.4 billion from their crypto businesses.
