Laser Digital Enters DeFi Fixed Income with Keyring Partnership

Nomura's digital asset subsidiary, Laser Digital, is expanding into decentralized finance (DeFi) fixed income markets. The company will act as a risk governor for lending markets built with Keyring Network, starting with Euler Finance.

Laser Digital and Keyring have developed a framework to address the barriers that keep institutions out of DeFi lending, including permissioning, exploit risk, governance, and settlement.

The partnership aims to enable fixed income strategies at institutional scale on-chain, opening the gateway to global markets. According to Jez Mohideen, co-founder and CEO of Laser Digital, 'institutional interest in on-chain fixed income stems from real opportunity, but constraints remain.'
