Laser Digital Japan Registers as Crypto Exchange Service Provider in Japan with SHIB Included
Laser Digital Japan has completed registration as a Crypto Asset Exchange Service Provider under Japan's Payment Services Act, according to Nomura's August 21 release. The company received registration number 00032 from the Kanto Local Finance Bureau and joined the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association.
The six assets included in the initial scope are Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Shiba Inu (SHIB). However, Nomura's release does not specifically name SHIB as one of the registered assets. Secondary reporting suggests that the registered scope includes these six assets, but this is based on a different source.
SHIB was trading at $0.00000521 on August 26, down 3.93% over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. This price movement does not appear to be directly related to the registration announcement.
