USDT stablecoin transfers have surged significantly over the past three years, with Polygon and Arbitrum One Layer-2 networks driving this growth. The two networks handled nearly 79% of all USDT activity, thanks to their much lower transaction costs compared to Ethereum mainnet.

Polygon processed a massive 452 million stablecoin transactions in 2025 alone, while Arbitrum's daily transfers grew 25 times since early 2023. This shift towards Layer-2 networks is also supported by integrations from traditional finance firms like Revolut and Stripe, indicating a growing trend of stablecoin flows moving off Ethereum mainnet to more efficient solutions.
