Layer-2 Networks Report Developments Amid Price Weakness
The crypto market is seeing notable developments in various layer-2 networks and new projects. According to recent announcements, BlockDAG (BDAG) plans to release its Super App in September 2026, marking a significant milestone for the project.
Arbitrum (ARB), on the other hand, has continued to roll out protocol upgrades and ecosystem integrations. However, the ARB token has traded at lower levels in recent periods, despite these developments.
The upcoming unlock of roughly 92 million ARB tokens on August 16 may affect supply, which could contribute to the price weakness. In contrast, Optimism (OP) has reported expanding adoption of its OP Stack with various platform integrations and a buyback program that directs sequencer revenue toward repurchasing OP tokens.
The BlockDAG team reports that the Super App will integrate features such as mobile mining, a multi-asset wallet, staking, trading tools, casino access, transfers, and virtual and physical payment cards. The project's mainnet uses a GHOSTDAG consensus design with EVM compatibility, and claims are open across Batches 1 through 7.
