LayerZero Consolidates After Strong Weekly Rally
LayerZero (ZRO) has seen a modest pullback after a strong weekly rally of 35.85%. The cryptocurrency is currently down about 0.72% over 24 hours, but up significantly over the past week. This recent move appears to be a consolidation following a sharp rally, influenced by multiple factors.
The positive catalysts driving ZRO's upside include infrastructure and stablecoin-related wins, as well as broad altcoin rotation. Anchorage Digital has chosen LayerZero as its preferred interoperability provider for bank-issued stablecoins, launching Tether's USAT as the first token using LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard.
This puts ZRO at the center of a regulated stablecoin stack spanning over 170 supported chains and is a significant narrative upgrade. Additionally, Eco + Stargate integration on LayerZero infrastructure has deepened the 'LayerZero as core cross-chain plumbing' story.
However, there are also structural and news catalysts that can blunt upside and contribute to small pullbacks like this one. The recurring monthly unlocks create supply pressure, with 32.6 million ZRO unlocked on September 20, 2026, valued at around $35 million at the time.
New legal headlines have also revived security and liability concerns around LayerZero's cross-chain model. KelpDAO has filed a civil claim against LayerZero Labs and CEO Bryan Pellegrino over an April 2026 exploit that drained roughly $292 million worth of rsETH from a cross-chain bridge built on LayerZero infrastructure.
