LayerZero Cuts Ties with 15 Blockchains in August
LayerZero has announced that it will be ending support for 15 blockchains on August 28, 2026. This means that users who have bridged tokens through Stargate to one of these chains will no longer be able to access their funds after this date.
The affected chains include EDU Chain, Meter, Shimmer, Cyber, Silicon, Sophon, Bitlayer, DFK Chain, Arbitrum Nova, DOS Chain, Cronos zkEVM, Degen, Skale Europa, Superposition, and Shrapnel. LayerZero is citing low activity on these chains as the reason for ending support.
Users who have bridged tokens to one of these chains through Stargate will need to move their funds to a supported chain before August 28, 2026, in order to avoid losing access to their money. This can be done by bridging to a pool with deeper liquidity, such as Ethereum or Arbitrum.
LayerZero has emphasized that the deadline is not negotiable and that users who fail to act will lose access to their funds. The company has also noted that this decision only affects users who have bridged tokens through Stargate and does not impact the entire crypto world.
