LayerZero Hits Six-Month High as Dominant Cross-Chain Player
LayerZero's ZRO token has reached a six-month high of $2.14 after bouncing back from a low of $1.70.
The token's price surge is attributed to its dominance in cross-chain activity, with Bitblaze observing that LayerZero accounted for 91.6% of transfer volume across six protocols over 30 days, totaling $12.4 billion.
This includes a single-day record of $4 billion in transfers, although one wallet was responsible for much of the heavy lifting, moving 4.46 billion WPAY worth $3.6 billion from Polygon to Arc.
However, this concentration raises questions about whether broader usage can sustain LayerZero's momentum.
Exchange transfers from strategic partners and large holders have also followed LayerZero's price gains, with CoinGecko noting that addresses linked to LayerZero's strategic partners transferred 8 million ZRO to Coinbase Prime.
