LayerZero Surges 11% Amid Strong Buy-Side Activity
LayerZero (ZRO) has seen a significant rebound over the past 24 hours, climbing 11.5% to trade around $2.118. The altcoin bounced back from a low of $1.7, surging to $2.19 before retracing slightly. This price hike was supported by a 45% jump in spot trading volume, indicating renewed buyer interest.
The recent uptick in LayerZero's price can be attributed to increased cross-chain transfer volume and growing demand for the protocol. Fees generated by the network have more than doubled over the past 30 days, rising from $147,000 to $301,000, which suggests stronger fundamentals. Additionally, exchange outflows have outpaced inflows, with spot netflow falling 156% to -$1.03 million, indicating that more tokens are leaving exchanges than entering them.
Despite the positive momentum, investors remain cautious about the upcoming token unlocks. In two weeks, an additional $50 million in tokens will be released, which could add selling pressure and impact the asset's long-term outlook. The market's ability to sustain the current upward trend will depend on whether demand can hold and if LayerZero can flip the $2.2 resistance level.
Technical indicators, such as the DMI Modified indicator, suggest that LayerZero is forming higher highs more frequently. If the current momentum continues, the altcoin could target a move above $2.5. However, if it fails to close above $2.2, ZRO may drop back to $1.7.
